What is RentalCover and how does it work?

Understand RentalCover’s role, the rental company’s role, and the claim process.

RentalCover is a separate protection product with its own documents and claim process. Read the policy wording issued for your purchase to understand benefits, exclusions, conditions, and eligibility.

RentalCover does not provide the rental vehicle or replace the rental company’s pickup rules.

The three companies have different roles

Airport Van Rental

Airport Van Rental provides the booking platform and booking support. It can help with a booking confirmation, voucher, or an amount handled through Airport Van Rental.

Airport Van Rental does not decide RentalCover coverage or claims.

The rental company

The rental company is called the supplier on some Airport Van Rental screens. It provides the vehicle and controls:

  • Pickup and return

  • The accepted payment card and security deposit

  • The signed rental agreement

  • Roadside, repair, recovery, and replacement instructions

  • Rental-company charges and the final rental invoice

Buying RentalCover does not automatically change those requirements.

Which rental-company document controls?

  • Before booking: Read the selected offer's Rental Policies.

  • After booking and before pickup: Check the latest confirmed voucher and its offer-specific rules.

  • After pickup: Use the signed rental agreement.

These documents govern the rental-company side of the booking. Your issued RentalCover policy and RentalCover's claim decision govern RentalCover protection and claims.

RentalCover

RentalCover controls:

  • Its policy wording and documents

  • Rules for changing or canceling its protection

  • Claim evidence

  • Claim assessment and decision

  • The payment path for an approved claim

How the process works

  1. Read the issued policy wording before purchase and again before pickup.

  2. Meet the rental company’s card, deposit, document, and agreement requirements.

  3. Contact the rental company first after a vehicle incident.

  4. Save the agreement, incident records, photos, invoices, receipts, and messages.

  5. Use the official RentalCover claim form when you are ready to submit a claim.

  6. Follow RentalCover’s instructions for additional evidence and any approved payment.

An approved claim may be paid to the rental company or reimbursed to you. RentalCover will explain which path applies to your claim.

The change or cancellation route depends on where you purchased the protection. Airport Van Rental handles requests connected to an Airport Van Rental booking; RentalCover handles direct purchases.

Protect your records

Use secure provider channels for policy, identity, bank, and claim records. Do not send a password, security code, full card number, or unnecessary unmasked identity document through ordinary chat or email.

Keep your booking number, RentalCover reference, signed rental agreement, and claim reference in separate, secure records.

Still need help?

Use the RentalCover Help Center for policy, document, cancellation, claim, or payment questions.

Contact the rental company for the vehicle or signed agreement. For an Airport Van Rental booking question, open the Airport Van Rental Help Center and use the chat button. Have the relevant booking, policy, agreement, or claim reference ready.
