The security-deposit amount and release process depend on the exact rental company, location, vehicle, renter, and offer. Check the written rule for your booking; Airport Van Rental cannot promise one amount or one bank timeline for every rental.
Check the rules for your rental company: Each rental company sets its own requirements. Before booking, open Rental Policies for the selected offer. After booking, check the latest voucher. After pickup, follow the signed rental agreement. Some Airport Van Rental screens call the rental company the supplier.
What the security deposit is
A rental company may place a temporary authorization on an eligible card or process the deposit in another way stated in its policy. The deposit secures obligations under the rental agreement.
It is separate from:
The rental price
The Due Today amount
The Due at Pickup balance
Any excess or deductible
The price of a rental company waiver or RentalCover protection
How to find the amount and requirements
On the selected offer, scroll to Rental Policies and open Rental Car Supplier's Policies and Rules.
Example only. Rental company rules and offer details vary. Read the policies attached to your selected offer.
Example only. Read Financial Policy in the supplier rules attached to your selected offer.
Accepted payment methods, authorization amounts, deposit rules, and cardholder requirements vary by rental company and offer.
Before booking, open the selected offer's Rental Policies.
Check the amount, currency, accepted card type, and any conditions that can change the deposit.
After confirmation, review the voucher.
At pickup, compare the rental company's deposit request with those documents before signing.
Before pickup, the Rental Policies and voucher are authoritative. After pickup, the signed rental-company agreement controls the deposit, permitted deductions, and rental company charges.
If the Rental Policies are blank or do not state the deposit, contact Airport Van Rental before booking. Do not assume a general deposit example applies.
What happens at pickup
The rental company checks whether the card and available credit or eligible funds meet its written requirements. A bank may reduce the card's available balance while an authorization is open.
Airport Van Rental cannot require a rental company to accept an unsupported card or waive a deposit stated for the booking.
What happens after return
The rental company closes the rental agreement and determines whether any amount may be applied under that agreement. It can then release the unused authorization or process any remaining amount according to the signed terms.
Your bank or card issuer controls when the available balance changes. A released authorization may disappear from pending activity instead of appearing as a separate refund. There is no single release timeline that applies to every rental company and bank.
How to follow up
Check the final rental company invoice and card activity.
Ask the rental company whether it released the authorization or posted a completed charge.
Ask the bank to trace the amount using the date, currency, amount, and merchant name.
Contact Airport Van Rental for escalation support if the rental company does not respond or the amount does not match the final invoice.
