Is mileage unlimited?

Mileage can vary by rental company, vehicle, renter, location, region, and selected offer.

Not always. Mileage is unlimited only when the terms for your exact offer say so and no condition that applies to your trip creates a limit.

Check the rules for your rental company: Each rental company sets its own requirements. Before booking, open Rental Policies for the selected offer. After booking, check the latest voucher. After pickup, follow the signed rental agreement. Some Airport Van Rental screens call the rental company the supplier.

Use the rules for your exact offer

On the selected offer, scroll to Rental Policies and open Rental Car Supplier's Policies and Rules.

Example only. Rental company rules and offer details vary. Read the policies attached to your selected offer.

Before pickup, use these sources in this order:

  1. Read the selected offer's Rental Policies before booking.

  2. After confirmation, check the mileage terms on the voucher.

  3. At pickup, compare those terms with the rental company agreement before signing.

After pickup, the signed rental-company agreement controls the mileage allowance, permitted travel, and any excess-mileage charge.

What to look for

Check the rental company, vehicle category, and mileage summary for the selected offer.

Example only. Rental company, vehicle, availability, and mileage rules can differ. Read the full Rental Policies for your selected offer.

Check whether the mileage is:

  • Unlimited without a condition that applies to your trip

  • Limited per day or for the whole rental

  • Stated in miles or kilometers

  • Restricted for a particular vehicle category

  • Different for local renters or longer rentals

  • Limited by geographic, cross-border, or one-way conditions

An “Unlimited mileage” summary can still have conditions in the detailed policy. Read both the summary and the full Rental Policies.

If the screen and detailed policy do not agree

Do not assume the broader statement wins. Save screenshots of both messages and contact Airport Van Rental before booking. If you already have a voucher, ask Airport Van Rental and the rental company to clarify the rule in writing before pickup.

If the Rental Policies are blank or do not state the mileage rule, do not assume mileage is unlimited.

If your rental has a mileage allowance

Check the allowance, unit, calculation period, and rate for travel above the limit. Ask whether any taxes or other listed charges apply.

At pickup and return, photograph the odometer and confirm that the recorded readings are correct. Report any mismatch before leaving the location.

Planning a long trip

Estimate your expected distance with a buffer. Confirm the permitted region as well as the mileage allowance, because unlimited distance does not automatically permit travel everywhere.
